Cant Continue Class Quest Cause It Says I Need Heavans Sword but I Have It

Hi,
I have searched the web for hours now trying to find a solution to my problem, without any result. I hope someone here have a solution or at least suggestions to how I can continue the Companions quest line.
When I started playing the game, I collected a lot of quests from a lot of peoples all around the world. I completed some, but I have still a lot of them in the quest list. When I got bored with side missions I continued the main quest line. Now I want to complete the Companions quest line. From the list of completed quests I can see that I have done the �Take Up Arms� and �Proving Honor�, and I have also done a �Hired Muscle� which I think is related. I also remember that I have completed the ceremony where you become a Companion (at the end of �Proving Honor�).
My problem is that I cannot find any Companions-related quests in my quest list, at least none of these: �The Silver Hand�, �Blood's Honor�, �Purity of Revenge�, �Glory of the Dead�, �Animal Extinction�, �Family Heirloom�, �Retrieval�, �Trouble in Skyrim�, �Striking the Heart�. If I talk to any of the Companions with the speech option �I�m looking for work�, they all reply �Aren�t you already doing something for Vilkas?� If I talk to Vilkas, he says �I�ve already given you a job. Get to it!� I have noticed that Vilkas always stands in the same spot, just inside the main door of the Companions headquarter, fronting the door. He never moves, day or night, so I believe it is related to the quest he has given me.
So� How can I continue the quest line? Can Vilkas have given me a quest that has nothing to do with the Companions quests, and that somehow is �hidden� among the other active quests? (I have looked through my active quests, and none seems like it can be given by Vilkas, although there are some miscellaneous quests I don�t know who gave.) If not, is it possible to abort or restart the none-existing quest?
PS: No, loading previous save is not an option. I have played at least 50 hours since I did the Companions quests, so it would mean a complete restart.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

You should have The Silver Hand quest in your que. If not just try to go to Gallows Rock and kill everyone there. When you get there wait for a minute as one of the brothers may join you. If not try to clear the dungeon and see if that triggers the end of the quest. If not you may have use the setstage command to complete this quest and move forward.
One thing you will see if you do any reading here is that there are a number of quests that can get borked if you let a lot of time pass before continuing on. Perhaps the upcoming patch will address a lot of that. I just hope the next 1.4 patch helps the save file bloat issue so I can continue. Good luck.

Thank you for the tips!
I will try to do what you suggest, and cross my fingers.
When it comes to the console commands, it's a bit tricky since I'm on the PS3 version

Actually this was my bad research.
Found "Rescue Mission", completed it, and got "The Silver Hand"! :-)
